Where Magnet Sourcing Goes Wrong

Four failure patterns we see when magnets are bought as commodities instead of engineered components.

Right magnet, wrong temperature class

The most common failure we see: a standard N-grade specified for a design that runs hot. Irreversible flux loss shows up months later — in your customer's product, not in the sample room.

Corrosion eating unprotected NdFeB

NdFeB oxidizes fast in humidity. A coating chosen by habit rather than by exposure profile leads to rust, chipping and contamination — especially in pumps, outdoor and medical-adjacent equipment.

Over-specified cost, under-specified risk

Paying for N52 when N45 meets the flux target wastes budget on every piece. The reverse — saving a grade and losing thermal margin — costs far more. Both come from skipping the engineering step.

Tolerance & magnetization surprises in assembly

Magnets that meet 'the drawing' but vary in magnetization angle or coating thickness create assembly force variation and performance scatter on your line.

NiCuNi, epoxy, zinc, gold and parylene selected against your humidity, chemical and salt exposure — with coating thickness controlled for your assembly gaps.

Through-thickness, diametrical, multi-pole and skewed magnetization, with flux measurement and dimensional inspection documented on every batch.
