Magnetic Solutions for Automotive & EV Applications

Automotive programs punish magnetic drift. Vibration, thermal cycling from -40°C to 150°C+, and a service life measured in decades expose weak grades and weak suppliers fast. We engineer magnets and assemblies for EV auxiliary drives, steering, braking and sensing — with the batch traceability your quality team expects.

What We See in Automotive Projects

Automotive qualification failures we help customers avoid — before they reach your validation lab.

Irreversible flux loss over vehicle life

A motor or sensor must perform the same in year ten as in year one. Grades selected without coercivity margin lose flux permanently under thermal cycling — and the failure appears long after SOP.

Thermal cycling & vibration

-40°C cold starts to 150°C+ under-hood operation, plus constant vibration. Coatings crack, adhesives fatigue, and magnetic properties drift if material and assembly choices aren't made for this environment.

Coating & corrosion failure

Humidity, salt spray and chemical exposure attack unprotected NdFeB. A corroded magnet in a steering or braking system is not a quality issue — it's a safety issue.

Documentation & traceability demands

Your quality team needs to trace every part back to its material batch. Suppliers who can't provide batch-level records and inspection data create audit risk you don't need.

How XAK Solves Them

Application-first engineering — we start from your operating conditions, not our catalog.

1

Coercivity margin engineered in

We select high-coercivity grades (SH/UH/EH series) with aging margin calculated for your worst-case temperature profile — not just nominal room-temperature performance.

2

Coatings validated for the environment

NiCuNi, epoxy and zinc coatings selected per your corrosion requirements, with salt spray and pressure cooker (PCT/HAST) test data available for qualification files.

3

Assemblies built for vibration

Rotor and sensor sub-assemblies with automotive-suitable adhesives and mechanical retention designs, so magnets stay where your simulation put them.

4

Batch-level traceability as standard

Every shipment links to material batch records, dimensional inspection data and flux measurements. FAI reports available for new program launches.
